WRENFIELD MUSEUM & FREE LIBRARY — REMOVAL OF COLLECTIONS UNDER THE COUNTY SCHEME — 17th September 1940
Case IV (deed box, japanned, 18 × 12 × 9, borough property)
Contents: the NETHERBOURNE HOARD, being 312 silver pennies in twelve trays of twenty-six, each tray numbered and the coins lying in the order of the Coroner's Schedule of 1903. Trays counted by me against the said Schedule this day and found correct in every particular.
Also in Case IV: the Schedule itself (clerk's fair copy, 4 leaves) and the Curator's transit note.
The card index is NOT removed. Being of no value and of considerable bulk it remains in the muniment room in its cabinet.
Case IV locked, two keys, one retained by the Curator and one deposited with the Town Clerk. The box further bound with linen tape and sealed at both hasps with the borough seal in red wax, the seals struck by me in the presence of the Deputy Town Clerk.
Consigned to the store at Harnage Hall, in the charge of the county's carrier, for the duration.
