[Minutes of the Finance & General Purposes Committee of the Borough of Wrenfield, 14th March 1941. Bound volume, typed, the Chairman's initials in ink at the foot of each page. Extract.]

Present: Ald. Pethybridge (in the Chair), Coun. Marris, Coun. Dallow, Coun. Mrs Sankey, the Town Clerk, the Borough Treasurer.

7. MUSEUM — INSURANCE OF EVACUATED COLLECTIONS.

The Town Clerk reported that the county's scheme requires a valuation for insurance of all collections in store, the previous figures dating from 1927 and being no longer defensible.

The valuer's schedule was laid before the Committee. The Netherbourne Hoard, last insured at £150 the whole, is returned by the valuer at £1,850, he observing that the market for early English silver has moved a great deal since the last war and that two of the pennies, if they proved to be what the Curator believes, might be worth more than the rest together.

RESOLVED that the collections be insured at the valuer's figures and the premium be met from the Museum account.

8. MUSEUM — STAFF.

The Borough Treasurer reported upon the Museum account for the year. The endowment income being much reduced and the building closed to the public since September, he could not recommend the establishment be continued at its present cost.

RESOLVED that the post of Assistant be suspended for the duration and that the Curator's salary be reduced by one third from Lady Day, the Curator to continue to have the use of the Lodge.

The Chairman directed that the discussion upon this item be not minuted.

9. ALLOTMENTS — HANBURY LANE.
