Store: Harnage Hall, west range and cellars. Detail: Sgt. Hollis, Pte. Kynaston, Pte. Wall.

Sat. 3.iv.43 — Rounds 2000, 2300, 0300, 0600. All secure. Rain heavy after midnight. Cellar dry. Nil to report.

Sun. 4.iv.43 — Rounds as above. Nil. Cold, 41° in the west range at 0600.

Mon. 5.iv.43 — Rounds as above. Nil. Mr Redfern of Wrenfield here 1100 to 1600 upon the county's business, in the west range. Signed the book in and out.

Tue. 6.iv.43 — Rounds as above. Nil. Mr Redfern here again 1030, remained until 1730.

Wed. 7.iv.43 — Rounds as above. Nil.

The stove in the west range lit this day by Mr Redfern's direction, he having papers wanted drying and the room being damp. Lit 1130, drawn 1600. Coal from the caretaker's ration, to be made good. Room 71° at 1500, being the warmest it has been since the detail came here.

Reminded Mr R. that fires are not to be lit in the store rooms except by the county's authority. He said he would put it in writing and did so. Copy attached.
