Inspector’s comparison slip, retained with the Tolliver papers

The outer ledger identifies a delivery point and is not, by itself, evidence of the hand receiving.

In a Montana rural office examined last autumn, three successive route books carried the same direction as the Huss place. Registered matter under several given names was left there upon that direction. The carrier could not say whether the persons were of one household, but stated that the name of the place had been considered sufficient by the office for as long as he had the route.

No irregularity was entered against those deliveries. The example is retained here because the claimant receipt for parcel 418 is blank.

Do not copy this slip into the loss certificate packet.
