[At the foot of the page, in the same hand, a smaller note:]
"3 x foxglove sold between 28/8 and 6/9, totaling 6 oz. Entries marked 'cash — no name,' 'J.T. — private,' and 'J.T. — private' respectively. In the matter of these entries I note that I have not since dispensed foxglove tincture to any customer save two regular patients of Dr. Linden under his written order. I mention this only because I intend to discontinue the practice of the cash sale of cardiac glycosides. The remaining stock will be dispensed only on written prescription."
— A.P., 16/9/1919.
[marginal pencil annotation, not in Pemberton's hand, added later: "J.T. = Julian? or the other J.T. — the steward from the Iphigenia? He's in S.F. Draft letter 3 Jan 1913 to Reddick, cf. iph-07. No — J.T. the steward was 1912; this is 1919; Timmons was in S.F. by Jan 1913. Not him. Julian Thorpe."]
