Killed paragraph, the Steeple-Asherton Mercury, intended for the issue of Wednesday 11 April 1923
Set in galley, struck through in blue pencil, the editor's note in the margin reading "killed 10 a.m. Tues per telephone Lord A.; do NOT reset."
COUNTRY NOTES — STEEPLE-ASHERTON
Mrs Hester Asher, of Asher Hall and of late of Bayswater, will not now be travelling to London on Wednesday afternoon as had been arranged. We understand her engagement at the Charing Cross Hotel has been postponed sine die. Mrs Asher remains at the Hall as her sister-in-law's guest for the present and is not at home to callers.
Editor's pencil note, lower margin: Lord A. on the telephone at five past ten this morning. Says the paragraph is to come out, the name of the hotel particularly, and that the Mercury is not to print the name of Mr H. P. in any column this month nor next. Says also we shall not lose by it. F.J.E.
