Cooper receipt for North Quay salt-room barrels, 19 February 1908
Receipt from O. Pike, cooper, for work completed at North Quay Stores, Salt Room No. 3, after the Monday storm-loss tally.
Rehooped barrel 17 from east wall rack. Tightened sprung hoops on barrels No. 31 and No. 42. Returned old head from barrel 17 with tally mark still visible under chalk.
Staves drawn dry. No tide line, swelling, brine wash, or salt cake found beneath the hoops. Old hoops showed cellar rust at nail ends only.
Barrel No. 31 opened for clerk inspection before rehooping. Salt ran clean through hand measure and did not clump against the stave.
Charged to North Quay Stores account.
Signed: O. Pike, cooper.
