Adelphi Rooms promptbook, final tableau cue, 3 May 1909
Promptbook leaf for The Painted Trapdoor, Act IV, copied from R. Bentham's desk copy after the Saturday benefit performance.
Final tableau: Cressida enters by upper terrace, crosses to center white star, drops the blue cloak hood, and receives full house before second curtain.
Trapdoor note in red pencil: terrace stone No. 4 repainted to match downstage flags; do not chalk edge after supper call. Keep hinge cloth under painted side.
Curtain call order:
Cressida center white star. Captain Harrow left mark. Servants below rail. No bow from upper terrace.
Late insertion between cue 87 and curtain:
If principal is delayed at change, approved stand-in may hold the hooded first bow under blue cloak. Face need not be shown until gas is brought down.
Margin in another hand:
Strike this from clean book. Public call remains Miss Lark at center.
