Adelphi Rooms side-door interval log, benefit performance, 3 May 1909
Loose interval sheet kept at the north side door for pass checks after the final tableau.
House condition:
Applause continuing after second curtain. Front doors held shut until the orchestra finished the reprise. No audience admitted to the stage passage.
Passage note:
Prompt-side stair from the terrace trap lets out beside the cab gate passage before the north door.
Side-door entries:
10:45 - Final Cressida call audible from house; orchestra in reprise after first applause break.
10:46 - R. Bentham sent call boy through with message for cab gate, saying Miss Lark's own note had asked that the cab be held at north.
10:48 - Miss I. Lark passed out by north side door, no auditorium ticket shown. Wore street skirt under plain travelling cloak. Said she was not to be stopped for the front crush.
10:49 - Door held for gasman returning from yard.
10:51 - Applause still up in house. Main lobby not yet opened.
Keeper's note:
Miss Lark did not cross the auditorium aisle or front vestibule while I was on the north door. If asked, this book records door traffic only, not the call.
