Adelphi Rooms stage-manager incident note, 4 May 1909
Private note from R. Bentham to the Adelphi Rooms manager, kept with prompt corrections rather than the public call sheet.
Saturday benefit, Act IV close: the clean promptbook should show Miss Lark taking the first Cressida bow at center. Leave the public call unchanged.
Working books to be corrected before Tuesday rehearsal:
Remove the late pencil allowance from the clean prompt copy.
Enter the blue-cloak repair as ordinary hinge damage, not a call substitution.
File the gas-table note under glare correction only. No face-light query is to be sent to the house electrician.
The north side-door sheet need not be copied into the weekly incident book. It records passage traffic, not stage appearance.
Do not let a door-traffic sheet decide a call-sheet question. The public call is a stage record; door books belong with house operations.
Signed, R. Bentham Stage manager
