Drawing-room place card pair, February salon evening
Two place cards kept under the glass of the Merrow Salon mantel tray.
Card one:
Miss Cassia Ryn, piano stool, east side of instrument. Turn pages for bar 33 repeat.
Card two:
Mr. Nils Ardent, shorthand table, service screen. Take programme timings from the west alcove side; do not cross before the second mazurka.
On the reverse of the Nils card, a staff hand has sketched the west end of the drawing room. The folding screen stands between the service table and the instrument. A dotted line marks the open speaking grille beside the alcove curtain.
A second pair of initials, R.F., appears in the corner beside the words:
Keep the screen set back. The machine horn catches too much chair scrape if it faces the room.
