Press No. 4 furnace heat log, Bracken Foundry

Loose heat sheet from the east yard rail shop, smudged with graphite at the fold and pinned through the upper corner.

Job line:

Axle yoke 6-B, wheel press No. 4. Morning run to be ready for the north siding repair set.

Shift entries:

7:10 - Yoke brought from east rack. Old blue band visible on left cheek. E.T. asks for lamp check before heating.

7:35 - Heat begun. Furnace door chalked 840.

8:05 - S.D. returns rail caliper and crack lamp to board. Brass tags not in their usual holes.

8:40 - Hold tag not on yoke at morning heat. J.V. asks why the night mark is still in the rough sheet.

9:15 - Cooling trough. Figure first entered as 12 minutes, then written over in darker graphite as 22.

Office copy note, in another hand:

Use clean cooldown number only. Do not copy the blue-band objection into the accident book.
