Card from the small inspection drawer, corners dark with oil and lower edge stained blue where the shims were nested.
Gauge set:
Yoke 6-B, press No. 4. Blue-tempered shim stack, left cheek and throat seat.
Punch record:
8:52 p.m. - E.T. takes No. 3 shim and crack lamp from the night drawer. Left cheek catches light at the old blue band. Marked for hold.
9:06 p.m. - Second punch entered on the day-shift line, though the day bench is already locked.
9:10 p.m. - J.V. initials the margin:
Shop need stands; release to morning heat.

M.K. to copy as day inspection. S.D. says the brass tag was never moved back from night issue.
