  • Hopewell of Tynemouth, Jn. Marwood Mr. — xij chaldron Sunderland coale, fetched ashore by ye coale-meter Wm. Tilden by ye usuall course. Dewtie at iiij s. vj d. ye chaldron, totalis liiij s. Paid ye same day to ye Customer's house by ye Mr in coyne. Coast certificate noted, ye xv th from Newcastle ye 28th past.

Outwarde, 4 Octobr. 1673 —

  • Hopewell of Tynemouth, Jn. Marwood Mr., for Newcastle. Declared cargo: none, vessel in ballast of Thames shingle, xij chaldron. — soe entred by ye Mr at ix of ye clocke.

The xv th of Octobr., visitynge at ye Hermitage upon notice from ye undernamed Carter, founde at ye Wharfe of Mr Jno. Fielding (Watlinge Streete) ye Carter's leafe of receipt for goods deliver'd aboard ye Hopewell ye 4th instant betwixt ye houres of vij and viij, viz. — three barrells pitch (full), three of tar (broach'd), one quarter-cable new, one suite of sayles (much used), sundrie cordage. None of ye sayd goods enter'd in this Booke ag^st ye vessel's cleerance. Carriage paid ij s. iiij d. by Mr Fielding's clerke.
