Day 6 at sea
Mr. McCausland took me aside today. Showed me the cargo logs - the real ones, not what the manifest says. Numbers don't add up. Weight's all wrong for what we're supposed to be carrying.
Day 8
Captain Hume drinking heavy again. Heard him and McCausland shouting in the wheelhouse. Something about 'Company orders' and 'keeping quiet'. McCausland said the route's madness with the ice reports we've had.
Day 10
McCausland gave me a packet. Said if anything happens, get it to his wife in Port Hume. Sealed tight. Told me to hide it where Company men won't look.
The Captain's been watching me since. Don't think he trusts any of us now.
