URGENT - Letter received from Ewan
Note to self: Packet hidden behind loose brick, east cellar wall. Ewan says if Company men come asking, I know nothing. Children must not be told.
If Ewan does not return, give packet to Thomas McCausland at the Beacon. No one else. Trust no one from the Hume Company.

Two men at door today. Said they were Company representatives. Asked about Ewan's papers. Told them he took everything with him on the ship. They did not believe me but found nothing.
